I don’t say this in a way that is meant to flatter you. I don’t say this in a way that is meant to rescue you.
I say this in a way that will hopefully prompt you to think, and then come to the same conclusion.
I just honestly didn’t see this of myself for a very long time, and it hurt me.
And I don’t mean it hurt my feelings. I mean, I was walking around, not knowing my worth, letting people take advantage of me and walk all over me.
I was not standing up for myself.
I was settling for abusive relationships with other people– whether that was a boss or a friend or a date.
I just didn’t know I had any inherent worth!
So, stop for a few moments today. Think about this. You are worthy. You have worth. And, if you’re a Christian like me, you know that your worth to God is priceless.
And if you’re not, well, you are still worthy, my friend!
You are worthy of love.
You are worthy of respect.
You are worthy of happiness.
You are worthy of safety and stability.
You are worthy of your dreams.
You. Are. Worthy.
