Today is Valentine’s Day! And I wanted to let you know that, like in any other relationship, God wants one-on-one time with us.
Our relationship with the Lord is an important one. Just like a marriage, you wouldn’t want your husband to ignore you, or to spend only one day a week with you. You wouldn’t want the relationship with your husband to be shrunken down to one day a week, for one or two hours.
So why do it with God?
He knows who you are, inside and out, but He doesn’t want it to be a one-way relationship. Our relationship with the Lord was never meant to be a one-way thing.
I love those who love me,
and those who seek me find me.
Proverbs 8:17 NIV
I’ve decided to spend time getting to know God.
It is becoming a wonderful experience of discovery, comfort, and peace. I read the Bible, and I feel Christian conviction. I learn. I trust. I love.
I’ve also gotten into the habit (or routine) of praying, and praying often. Most of my prayers are of thanks, but they are sincere and from the heart. He has given me so much!
Reading the Bible and praying are two simple ways to spend time with God. Sit with Him quietly, without your phone. Watch the sunset or feel the sun on your skin in the morning. Close your eyes for one minute to say thanks.
The most important relationship in our lives is our relationship with God. Let’s put in some effort 🤗
Have a beautiful day and God bless,
