April marked my one year anniversary of becoming a Christian, of accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior 😊💕 And to celebrate, I wanted to share with you my #1 tip for new Christians.
Do not worry about
trying to find a list
of do’s and don’t’s.
Just read the Bible.
Read your Bible.
I always assumed that Christianity was a set of rules you follow. Follow them, and you get to Heaven. Don’t follow them, and well…
But this couldn’t be further from the truth! Though we should live good, honest lives, it is only through God’s Grace that we are saved, not through acts or earning spiritual brownie points.
For it is by grace you have been saved,
and this is not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God—
not by works,
so that no one can boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV
The goal of serving God and glorifying Him isn’t to continually jump through hoops. So drop your list of do’s and don’t’s! Have faith and read the Bible.
As you read your Bible, you will feel a conviction in your heart. You’ll know what you should change in your life, because it will no longer feel right. The Holy Spirit will guide you, as you read, to better your life.
So, if you’re freaking out wondering what you should or shouldn’t do… relax. A strong oak grows slow. Take Christ’s hand, and allow Him to improve your life gently.
Take care and God bless,
