Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,

James 1: 2-3
And so starts one of my favorite books in the Bible! I have always loved teachings of perseverance and resilience, which are often only built through hardship. It sounds masochistic, but I just know that it is during those difficult times in life that one really grows.
This book was written by James, brother of Jesus, around AD 49. It only has 5 short parts to it, but they truly pack a punch. James doesn’t waste any time ~ he gets right down to the heart of Jesus’ teachings 🙂
Along with Proverbs, this is one of my favorite books to re-read. And if you want to finish another Bible book, I highly recommend James. Short, to the point, and full of wisdom!
The Bibles I read:
The Jesus-Centered Bible, True Images Bible, and The One Year Bible (New Testament).
