🎢 Dance to 2 Songs πŸŽΆ

You know, I think I’ve found a secret. Hidden in simplicity. Covered up, yet clearly right under my nose.

I’ve been meaning to work out more lately, or at lease move. I’m an indie author, and right now I’m spending upwards of 8 hours sitting at my desk. I get up and stretch, but I need to move. I need to get a workout in there somewhere. Fatigue sets in with me rather quickly, and when it does, it is not pretty.

So, on my daily to-do list, I wrote this: Dance to 2 Songs

I’m a workout-at-home type of person, anyway. So all I have to do is put on my favorite music (I’ve been loving Shania Twain and Runaway Jane) and move my body to 2 songs. That’s it. About 6-8 minutes, overall.

But here’s where the secret comes in.

Once I’m moving and shaking to my favorite music, 2 songs pass… then 3… then 6… And next thing I know, I’ve done a full workout! Next thing I know, I’m warmed up, sweating a bit, ready to stretch and take a cool shower πŸ€—

I’m not gonna lie– sometimes that sun comes in hot through my window, and I’m in a hurry to write the next scene, so I do only 2 songs. But I’ve moved, and I get that check βœ”οΈ on my to-do list, so I’m satisfied with that.

What’s your “2 songs”? Have you been meaning to write your own book, but it feels overwhelming? How about “write 2 pages” or “write for 2 minutes”?

Have you been having trouble keeping up with friends? How about “write 2 texts”?

Whatever it is you want to achieve, you can jump-start your motivation with very little effort. Sometimes it’s not even the doing that feels heavy, it’s “the thought of” doing something for a huge amount of time.

So, try starting with just 2 and see what happens πŸ™‚

Take care and God bless,

Yari πŸ‚
